Praying each day

No matter where, when, or how you pray, God listens. You can pray anywhere & at any time. Some people like to pray together in a place like this, others like to pray in private. It is completely up to you.

Daily Practices

We can root our prayer life in a simple daily rhythm. Do join us & try this out.

Morning

“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay
my requests before you and wait expectantly.”

Join us each day as we pray for our community and beyond:

Monday – For all staff & pupils in our schools: West Earlham
Nursery, Infant & Junior Schools, Bluebell Primary, Henderson
Green Primary, Earlham Nursery School, Norwich Primary Academy,
City Academy Norwich.

Tuesday – For the vulnerable. Particularly for those suffering
injustice or poverty.

Wednesday – For students and staff at UEA.

Thursday – For families, and those feeling isolated and alone.

Friday – All those in care homes and sheltered housing
accommodation, remembering particularly Ivy Court, Dell Rose
Court, Fellowes Close and George Carver Court in Earlham.

Saturday – For those struggling with ill-health, whether physical or
mental.

Sunday – For church unity in Earlham, the city of Norwich, and
across the world .

Lunchtime

Take 5 minutes to listen to God’s voice and respond as appropriate.

Wherever you are join with the Earlham community by praying the Earlham Parish Prayer:

Father God, thank you for your church family in Earlham. Please fill us with your Holy Spirit that we might grow in love for you and for one another. Help us to see you in everyone we meet and fill our lives with your praise. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Evening

“The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; …………where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.”

Examen provides an opportunity to reflect on each day:

  1. Be still and become aware of God’s presence

  2. Give thanks for the day

  3. Think about how you felt during the day. Is there anything God is saying to you through these feelings?

  4. Take time to pray about one thing from the day

  5. Look forward to tomorrow and ask God for his help
